At Boston Precision Motion, we have the ability not only to predict performance, but to actually measure it with high precision. We have several dynamometers, built in-house to allow for accurate motor characterization. All of our dynamometers use electric servo-motors as loads, enabling precise load control, and allowing for testing of regenerative braking performance.
10 Nm Dyno
Our 10Nm dyno enables precise motor characterization. This dyno can supply loads of up to 10Nm up to 8000 RPM, with reduced loads possible up to 15,000 RPM. Any combination of cycles, sweeps, and measurements is possible. The electronics on this dyno are unique, utilizing 24-bit ADCs to measure, voltage, amperage, and current. All measurements are commanded by a single microprocessor, enabling perfect data synchronization and therefore highly accurate data filtering. We make extensive use of ferrite beads, analog RC filters, and digital FIR filters to get noise-free data.
50 Nm Dyno
Our 50Nm dyno is a work-in-progress, and is currently being brought up to operational status. Check back soon to see the status on this!
